This smoothie contains one of my favorite things; coffee. It’s also easy on the budget and chock-full of nourishing ingredients. If you’ve ever purchased a fancy coffee drink from a specialty shop, you know what I mean!
Most coffee drinks are filled with sugar and empty calories. Elevate your favorite morning pick-me-up with a protein-packed wholesome treat instead.
This coffee smoothie contains everything you need to start your day off right, with protein, fiber, good fats, and good carbs. These are all of the Macronutrients that your body needs every single day.
With the right balance of macronutrients, you are able to fight hunger, decrease cravings, and have increased energy.
This not only is a great coffee drink, but is a wonderful breakfast drink to bring on the road. It will keep you full, focused, and energized.
Easy Morning Iced Coffee Smoothie
- 4 ounces of purified water
- 4 ounces brewed organic coffee
- Handful of ice cubes
- 3 scoops protein powder, either vanilla or flavor-free (I use this kind here)*
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (if using flavor-free protein)
- 1/2 tablespoon flax seeds
- If you need sweetener use 1-2 drops of liquid stevia
Place ice cubes in blender. Next add your purified water and coffee. Add your 3 scoops of protein powder*. Blend on low. Next add 1/2 tablespoon of flax seeds. Blend on high. If using vanilla and liquid stevia add at the end and blend until smooth.
Typically I put greens in my smoothie like described here, but in this coffee smoothie they are omitted.
