Simple Cinco de Mayo Guac

Simple Cinco de Mayo Guac

With Cinco de Mayo here, I thought I’d share with you one of my favorite and most simplest recipes of all time; home made guacamole!

Guacamole being a healthy fat, you can feel good about snacking on this decadent treat. Good fats are necessary for your body to function at its best. It keeps your skin subtle, your hair shiny, your joints lubricated, and your brain sharp.

A few simple ingredients and about 5 minutes of your time, you too can whip up an instant nourishing snack.

Home Made Guacamole Recipe

  • 2 ripe avocadospeeled
  • 1/4 Vidalia onion, finely chopped
  • Juice of 1 lime (or lemon)
  • 3 drops of certified therapeutic grade lime essential oil
  • Optional: cilantro. (I choose to eliminate as cilantro tastes soapy to me, but others love it. If you choose to use cilantro, remember a little goes a long way!)

Slice the avocados in half lengthwise. Remove pits. Scoop out the flesh of the avocados and place in a bowl. Take a fork and smash the avocados until they are a smooth consistency. Next slice your lime. Squeeze the full juice lime right on the avocado. This is important as the acid from the lime (or lemon) will prevent the avocado from browning. Next chop your onion fine and toss in the same bowl. Take your food-grade lime essential oil and place two drops in the bowl. If using cilantro take a few strands, chop fine, and place in the same bowl as the other ingredients as well.

Thoroughly mix with your fork until all ingredients are combined.

Find a festive bowl and scoop in your guac. Be sure to pair this up with my home made salsa and some organic blue corn chips!
