Let’s face it, food marketers are smart! By now you’ve probably heard that sugar is responsible for making you fat, and too much sugar leads to preventable diseases caused from constant low-level inflammation throughout the body. When you see the word “sugar” listed as one of the main ingredients in an item, you may take pause before deciding whether to purchase that item. Food marketers know this and have become extremely crafty in their tactics.

There are numerous names for sugar, and not all sugar is created equal. Some are more detrimental to health than others, specifically those sugars that are refined. Any nutritional value that may have been present has been stripped.
